Susan Jasin, Ph.D., practiced as a licensed psychologist in both Philadelphia and San Diego for 35 years. She graduated with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University where she also completed a 2 year APA approved internship. Dr. Jasin had the unique privilege of receiving direct supervision from the founder of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dr. Aaron T. Beck, and from other early pioneers in CBT including Dr. Arthur Freeman, at the University of Pennsylvania, Center for Cognitive Therapy. In collaboration with Dr.Alan Goldstein, Dr. Jasin co-founded the Agoraphobia and Anxiety Treatment Program at Temple Medical School. She also taught CBT to doctoral students at California School of Professional Psychology and to psychiatry residents at Balboa Navy Hospital for a number of years.
Agoraphobia, social anxiety and phobias as well as depression and related disorders have been the primary areas of focus in Dr. Jasin's therapy practice over the years. After working in the business world as an organizational psychologist and consultant, Dr. Susan is pleased to be returning to private practice, her first career love, as a Psychological Associate to Dr. James Shenk at The Cognitive Therapy Institute, La Jolla / San Diego.
